Looking for some motivation to give your kids choirs and hold the boundaries of them doing the choirs before they get the treats of life. We love this verse in the book of Luke.
Luke 16:10 – “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” (NIV)
Think of chore time with your kids as a training ground for them learning that trust is an earned gift and not just given. If they can learn to follow through on what they are asked to do in life they will reap great rewards in life. Having someone trust you with something is a wonderful statement that you are a quality person.
As Christians we teach our kids that they should love everyone because God loves everyone. Yes they should love everyone, but love is very different than trusting everyone. Kids need to learn that trust takes time, it is a learned skill. A persons words must aline with their actions for trust to be built.
Chores are a wonderful way for kids to learn that they earn trust in the family when they do their chores with a cheerful heart.
