Hebrews 4:16 is a favorite children’s Bible memory verse, but how many know the story behind this verse?

The unknown author of Hebrews encourages Hebrew Christians to put their faith in Christ and His superior work and person.

KTMTTMT – Keep the main thing the main thing.  It is so easy to get distracted as Christians.  This writer put it very simply, keep Christ the main thing.

In Hebrews 4 the author encouraged the Hebrews that Christ is much greater than the Old Testament Priesthood.  The Old Testament priests could only go into the presence of God after much preparation and that only once per year.

Christ has made the way possible for the Hebrew Christians to boldly go into right into God’s presence even in their weakness.  Why?  Because the perfect priest Christ represents us.

In this same way, when we are in the presence of God, we receive the mercy we need and the gift of grace for living every day.  How wonderful is that.

Tell your children that they can confidently talk to their Abba (Daddy) Father God any time they want.  It is like climbing write up into His lap.

Now you know the story behind Hebrews 4:16.
