Using The Alphabet To Teach The Bible: Letter B

Shell Ornaments

Here is a great topic for the B letter. Baptism!

16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17

This is a great topic to discuss with your kids when they are young, especially to raise the idea of when and if they want to get baptized. Tell them  the story of how even Jesus was baptized and that this is an action that is a symbol of making the commitment to follow Jesus.

A good idea for a craft for this letter is to create a shell ornament with the name and date of when you child was baptized. This is a very simple project and all you really need are shells and a felt tipped pen. Also some glitter or stickers could be fun for your little kiddo to decorate the shells with.
