Best Wedding Anniversary Bible Verses

Wedding Cake

Wedding anniversaries are a special time. Families come together, flowers, cake, and lots of stories of how God worked in the lives of the couple over the years.

This week we have the blessing of celebrating the 60th Wedding Anniversary of my in laws, Bill and Jean Hagler.

My daughters are trying their hand at making a double tier wedding cake. Family is flying in from other states and lots of food has been planned. We wondered what Bible verse would remind us of what it takes to have 60 years of marriage.

To celebrate the fact that to make 60 years of marriage work there has to be a lot of self sacrifice, we choose these two verse in Ephesians.

Ephesians 5:22  Instructs wives to honor God’s design by respecting their husbands.

Ephesians 5:25  Instructs husbands to honor God’s design by sacrificially loving their wives.

This is a missing ingredient in the “ME” generation of today.  Marriage is a commitment to sacrifice. For this anniversary we want to help our kids learn that sacrifice and commitment are a  key ingredients to making a marriage work.

This week we celebrate the loving sacrifice that Bill and Jean have made for 60 years!

HAPPY 60 YEARS BILL AND JEAN HAGLER!
