Coloring pages are the perfect way to keep kids interested while they are listening to books on tape or even sermons. I am a doodler myself and so I know the importance of being able keep my hands busy while listening to lectures. Many people think that this is distracting but for people like me it helps me to concentrate on what is being said to take notes and doodle.
For children under the age of about ten taking notes is something that they can’t do, so I have tried giving kids coloring pages that relate to whatever they are learning about. For example, I have printed out pages that had Daniel in the lions den for while they were listening to a sermon on the same topic. Not only does it give kids something to do, but it helps them to have a visual image that goes along with what they are listening to.
