Easy Bible Lessons For Kids in 10 minutes – Honor All Men, 1 Peter 2:17

Hook:  In this easy Bible Lesson God teaches us to honor one another even when that person is not acting honorably.  Why?  Because each of us were made in the image of God.  Each person has infinite value and potential even if they don’t look like it or aren’t acting like it on the outside.

Book:  “Honor all men; love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.” (1 Peter 2:17)   Notice the word that was underlined (All).  God says that everyone is worthy of honor.

Look:  (Read Luke 19:1-10) Zacchaeus was a hated cheating tax collector in the region of Jericho.  On top of that he was a little man.  So small he had to climb a sycamore tree to see Jesus when He came to town.  No one could see anything worth honoring in Zacchaeus except Jesus.  He called out to Zacchaeus to go and have a special dinner with him.  Jesus could see the image of God in Zacchaeus and when Zacchaeus felt the honor that Jesus gave to him, he responded and repented of what he had done wrong and turned to God.

Took:  Ask your children if there is someone who God wants them to honor that they didn’t realize was deserving of honor?  How can they honor them?  Make a plan to start today and ask God to give them a heart of honor toward all men.
