We love celebrating Easter. Jesus is RISEN!!! YEAH!!! Our family gathers together for a big meal after church and we use a product called the Resurrection Eggs. What a wonderful way to celebrate as a family and review the Easter story.
The eggs work great for kids of all ages. We hand out the plastic eggs then everyone opens their egg to find a prop from the Easter story. It is fun to see if we can remember the order of the props as we tell the story of Christ’s death and resurrection.
If you don’t have the money for the kit you could make your own version. The book Benjamin’s Box: The Story of the Resurrection Eggs will support you and be a fun read aloud at the table.
Also check Christian Preschool Printables, for easy to copy images you could copy, color and put in plastic eggs. As a Sunday school teacher you could have every kid in your classroom make their own set of twelve eggs to share the story with their family. Think of what a great evangelistic tool that would be for non-believing families this Easter.
Our kids love this celebration and Easter wouldn’t be the same without it. Hope your family finds this tradition as meaningful.
If you like what you read, check out our children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website. It provides the Big Story behind all 66 books in the Bible including colorful illustrations, rhymes and a surprise on every page.
