Easy Bible Lessons For Kids in 10 minutes – “Kingdom Character No. 3, No Fear”, 1 John 4:18

Hook: In this easy Bible Lesson for kids, God reveals the third of 3 key character traits for those who live Kingdom lives is, no fear. Kingdom living is displayed by when we live without fear of punishment from God for not living according to the law.

Book: “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. (1 John 4:18) Before we experienced God’s perfect love in Christ’s death for our sins and His complete forgiveness, we lived under the constant burden of guilt.  We were under the law and we were declared guilty because we could not ever keep the law.  So we were afraid of God and his punishment for our failures.

Look: “For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it. The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!.” (Romans 4:15) That is the amazing thing that has happened, Christ has fulfilled the law and nailed it to the cross.  We are no longer under the law.  We are now free to experience God’s perfect love.   We don’t need to worry about failure.  God’s love will never grow less when we fail.  Our worth will not be less if we fail.  God will not punish us if we fail.  Hurray!

Took: Ask your children what they are afraid to fail in?  School, sports, friendships…  Why are they afraid?  Reread the two passages above.  They are not under the law, God loves them unconditionally, they don’t have to be afraid, they can risk and they are safe in God’s love.
