Easy Bible Lessons For Kids in 10 minutes – “Take Possession of Your Land”, Joshua 18:3-5

Hook: In this easy Bible Lesson we are challenged to take possession of the land that God has given to us.  But what is that land?  What are we supposed to do to possess it?  I am convinced that many chrisitians are asking God to do something for them that He has already done and they just haven’t stepped out and possessed what He has already given to them.

Book: “Then Joshua asked them, ‘How long are you going to wait before taking possession of the remaining land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given to you?'” (Joshua 18:3) God had already given the Israelites the Promised Land, what was lacking was their willingness and go out and take it.

Look: (Read John Joshua 18:3-5) What was the first thing Joshua called the 7 tribes to do in order to begin the process of possessing their God given land?  That’s right.  They had to go out and explore it and map it out.  It was a step of faith and by taking it, God gave them the ability to see clearly what He had given them.  They couldn’t see it while sitting in their camp and wishing it was there’s.  God has given us much land to conquer.  Some of it may internal; our hearts and minds and desires.  Some of it may be external; reaching our friends for Christ, our school work, new skills that we are learning.  But we won’t make any progress unless we go out and explore those lands and decide what God has given to us.

Took: Ask your children if there are lands that God has given to them that they need to go out and explore?  How could they do that?  Where is a place they can start today?
