Today let’s focus on teaching kids a Bible miracle from the book of Acts. Paul was given a miraculous vision to come to Macedonia to preach the gospel. (Acts 16:6-15)
Paul and Barnabus were prevented from preaching the gospel in certain parts of Asia and eventually reached the seaport of Troas. There something miraculous happened.
Ask the children?
What happened to Paul at Troas?
“That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us!'” (Acts 16:9)
How did Paul immediately respond?
“So we[c] decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there.” (Acts 16:10)
After Paul and Barnabus sailed and landed in Philippi, they went to the riverside where they thought people would be meeting for prayer. What miracle happened when they preached the good news?
“One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying.” (Acts 14:20)
It is interesting that a man appeared in the vision to call Paul to Macedonia but it was a woman who responded first. Who knows the ways of God? We can only conclude that when we hear God’s voice, we must immediately respond, like Paul, so that God will do His work through us.
Ask the children if they have heard God’s voice about something or someone recently? Ask them to listen especially hard for the next few days. Talk and pray about what they have learned and how they should respond.
