Today let’s focus on teaching kids a Bible miracle from the book of Acts. Saul was blinded when He met Christ (Acts 9:1-9)
One of the greatest percecutors of the early church was a man named Saul. He was a leader of the Jews and zealously kept the Law. He hated the Christians because He thought they were undermining Judaism and went around trying to have them put in jail or even killed. Little did He know that Jesus had something special in store for him.
Ask the children?
How did Saul feel about the followers of Jesus?
“Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers.” (Acts 9:1)
When Paul was walking on the road to Damascus on his way to persecute more Christians, how did Jesus miraculously appear to Saul?
“As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?’” (Acts 9:3)
How did Saul’s companions respond to Jesus’ voice? What Bible Miracle happened to Saul?
“The men with Saul stood speechless, for they heard the sound of someone’s voice but saw no one! 8 Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus.” (Acts 9:7, 8 )
Jesus appeared to Saul on the road in order to get his attention. I guess He got it! Instead of being angry towards Christians, now Saul was blind and had to be led by the hand like a little child.
Ask your kids, what do they think Saul was thinking now? Did Jesus get his attention? How does Jesus get our attention? Jesus is still speaking today through His word, our circumstances, a still small voice, dreams, other people, etc. What is he saying to your kids right now? Discuss how Jesus is speaking to them and what kind of response will they make.
