Every Bible Miracle For Kids – Stephen Sees Into Heaven

Today let’s focus on teaching kids a Bible Miracle from the book of Acts.  Stephen actually sees into heaven. (Acts 7)

Life is difficult enough without people accusing us falsely.  It would be easy to hate those people, but that isn’t God’s way.  Let’s see how one of God’s servants handled this situation.

Stephen had been accused of lying about God and as a result he gives a great message from the Old Testament about God’s love and faithfulness for the Jews.  The message ends with an accusation of the Jew’s hard heartedness towards God because they killed God’s prophets and even the Messiah whom God had sent to them.  Let’s see what Bible Miracle happened…

Ask the children?

How did the Jewish leaderes respond to Stephen’s message to them?

“The Jewish leaders were infuriated by Stephen’s accusation, and they shook their fists at him in rage.” (Acts 7:54)

What bible miracle did the Holy Spirit give to Stephen?

“But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 56 And he told them, ‘Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand!’” (Acts 7: 55, 56)

In response to his bible miracle of seeing directly into heaven, what did the Jewish leaders do?

“Then they put their hands over their ears and began shouting. They rushed at him 58 and dragged him out of the city and began to stone him.”  (Acts 7:57, 58 )

And how did Stephen miraculously respond?

“As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, ‘Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.’ 60 He fell to his knees, shouting, ‘Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!’ And with that, he died.”  (Acts 7:59, 60)

Even when unjustly accused, Stephen responded with a message of good news.  When Stephen was stoned he responded with forgiveness and faith in God.

Ask your children if they have ever been unjustly accused?  How did this feel?  What did they do?  Ask your children how they would have responded in Stephen’s place?  Ask them who miraculously strengthened Stephen to respond with love and forgiveness?  Thank God together that we have the same Holy Spirit to miraculously give us love and forgiveness.
