Explaining The Holy Spirit To Children

Who is the Holy Spirit? Often in Sunday school teachers focus on God the father and the son Jesus but the Holy Spirit is not normally taught.  Here are some ideas for explaining Him to your kids. Start with the basics.

1. Start with explaining the God created all.

2. God sent his son Jesus to the earth and he died and rose again.

3. Jesus returned to Heaven (Acts 11) but sent a special helper, the Holy Spirit, to live in His followers and help them remember Jesus.

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”      John 14:26

The concept of the Holy Spirit is very difficult to understand, especially for a young child.  Here is a simple video story that helps explain the jobs of the Holy Spirit.

The characters in the story are British and use special phrases so you might need to explain a few words to your kids.  Though the story is a bit corny it explains pretty well the basic idea of the jobs of the Holy Spirit.  For your kids just to have an understanding of this difficult idea is great!

I don’t have a website. I requested info about the Holy Spirit for Chd’s Church ages 6-12 yrs. Thank u for this info. I haven’t had time to thoroughly look through it as of yet.

If it’s possible could u plz send me info also on Luke 2:41-52,focusing on vs 52 in particular as well for the same age group.

Also, do u have any info that u can recommend that contextualizes the scripture for Asian children,Chinese in particular?
Thank u.. Any considerations would be appreciated.
