Ever had your child come home super disappointed and upset with God? Maybe they did not get the big part in the school play, their best friend moved away, or their girlfriend broke up with them(a little young for that I think).
Have them sit down and write their frustrations, fully explaining the situation and anything they think is really important. After they write it all down take the letter and put it in a good storing spot.
After some time has passed, maybe a month or two, pull that letter out. Have your child think through the situation again. Then ask them if anything good happened because of that disappointment. If something good did happen, and many times something has, this is a chance to teach them that God works out everything for our good.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
What an important lesson to learn at a young age! Sometimes life is going to be crazy and we just do not understand what God is planning. But if we have the faith to trust His plan then we can survive through those rough patches.
