Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – December 28, Revelation 12, “Defeating The Accuser”

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Revelation 12) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: The apostle John has been exiled to the island of Patmos. There Jesus appears to him and instructs him to write a letter to the churches. Jesus gives instruction to each of the churches individually and then shares with them a vision of what is to come in the end times, judgement upon the earth, the final destruction of satan’s forces and the beginning of a new heaven and new earth.

Satan has been thrown down to earth by God and along with his demons he is trying to defeat the followers of Christ and to derail God’s plan.  However, God has given us 3 gifts to defeat satan.

Ask the children…

What are the first 2 gifts?

“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb
and by their testimony.”
(Revelation 12:11)

The first gift of Christ’s blood makes us worthy and therefore satan has nothing to accuse us of and the second is all the work that God has done on our behalf and gives us confidence in any circumstance that God will come through for us.  What is the third gift?

“And they did not love their lives so much
that they were afraid to die.”
(Revelation 12:11)

The one thing that satan scares people with is death.  But when we know that death is just a passageway into heaven and into the presence of God, then a believer does not have to be afraid of death.  And if we aren’t afraid to die, then we don’t have to be afraid of anything.

Ask your children if they know that death for the believer is just their body dying but their spirit lives on and they will be in heaven with God?  How does that make them feel about dying?  Entrust your lives to God right now and thank Him for every breath we take here on earth and for eternity with Him in heaven.
