Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – December 30, Revelation 19 , “The Return Of The King”

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Revelation 19) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: The apostle John has been exiled to the island of Patmos. There Jesus appears to him and instructs him to write a letter to the churches. Jesus gives instruction to each of the churches individually and then shares with them a vision of what is to come in the end times, judgement upon the earth, the final destruction of satan’s forces and the beginning of a new heaven and new earth.

When the evil of the world has grown too great and God’s plan has been finished, Jesus will return to destroy evil once and for all.

Ask the children…

What does Jesus look like when He comes back and what does He do?

“Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. 12 His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns.” (Revelation 19:11, 12)

What else do we learn about Jesus when He returns?

“From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. 16 On his robe at his thigh[e] was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.” (Revelation 19:15, 16)

When Jesus comes back it will be as King of kings and riding on a great white horse with an army surrounding and He will have all power to defeat all the enemies of God.  Evil will be completely smashed and destroyed forever.

Ask your children to describe the returning Christ? How does it make them feel to be a follower of this great King?  Do they have more confidence to go out and follow Christ even when they are opposed by evil?
