Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – December 7, Titus 3 “Submit to Government”

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Titus 3) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: Paul left Titus to organize the church on the wild island of Crete. This was a rough group and Paul wrote to provide Titus instruction on how to raise up the various members of the church.

One of the things that Paul instructs Titus about is how the Cretan church should respond to the government.

Ask the children…

How should believers respond to the government?

“Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers.” (Titus 3:1)

How else are they to act?

“They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good.” (Titus 3:1)

God has put our government in authority over us for certain things.  The job of believers is to honor that authority and to obedient to those in leadership over them.

Ask your children how they can be obedient to our government?  You might suggest things using the crosswalk when they cross the street, or obeying their teachers, obeying policement or firemen, etc.  Since God has put these people and institutions in authority over us, we are to obey them.
