Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – February 7, Leviticus 20, “God’s View of Psychics”

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Leviticus 20) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: God inspired Moses to write the first five books in the Bible. The book of Leviticus is all about keeping God’s people in the right relationship with God and one another through offerings, sacrifices and rules of conduct. In order to guide the carrying out of these instructions God provided priests, or Levites, to teach the people and to devote themselves to following God’s laws.

God is holy and will have nothing to do with those who would turn to the satanic world (demons and those who are dead) in order to gain knowledge (false knowledge at that)?

Ask the children…

What does God say about those who trust psychics?

“I will also turn against those who commit spiritual prostitution by putting their trust in mediums or in those who consult the spirits of the dead (psychics).” (Leviticus 20:6)

What will God do?

“I will cut them off from the community.” (Leviticus 20:6)

God has provided everything we need to lead abundant lives; His word, His Son, His Spirit and Himself.  When anyone resorts to consulting with mediums or psychics who say that they are communicating with the dead or a higher power, they are either lying themselves or speaking for the father of lies (Satan).  Look what happened to Adam and Even when they chose to believe Satan rather than God.  Satan will always lead people to destruction.  God wants so much better for the people He made in His image.

Ask your children where they see psychic’s and mediums advertising in your town?  Billboards, tarrot card parlors, etc. What does God say about these people?  What should we do for these lost souls?  Pray for them and warn others not to go there other than to share the gospel with them.  We don’t need to be afraid because Jesus has already won the battle over their leader.  We go in God’s authority, love and power.
