Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – January 27, Exodus 25, “God’s Tabernacle”

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Exodus 25) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: God inspired Moses to write the first five books in the Bible. The book of Exodus is all about God’s miraculously assisting His special nation (Israel) to leave their 400 year slavery in Egypt in order to return to their promised land. Along the way God provides His people with a special tent of meeting and specific jobs and ceremonies for them to perform to enable Him to remain with them.

God wanted to be with His people on their journey.  I wonder how He was going to do this?

Ask the children…

How did God plan to be with His people?

“Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.” (Exodus 25:8 )

How was important was it that the Tabernacle was built just as God commanded?

“You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you.'” (Exodus 25:8 )

God provided His people with a Tabernacle that represented God’s dwelling place in heaven.  Because God is holy, the Tabernacle had to be built exactly according to God’s specifications.  It reminded the people every day that they could approach God only by His grace and mercy.

Ask your children if they know what Jesus did for them that allows them to have God live right inside them?  They are now God’s tabernacle.  Jesus made them clean and perfect just like the Tabernacle.
