Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – November 27, Ephesians 2, “Princes or Paupers?”

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Ephesians 2) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus to remind them that now they are in Christ, they are no longer paupers but princess.  He also instructed them what it looked like to live like princes.

Paul pointed out two important truths about the Ephesians that pointed to their royalty.

Ask the children…

Where did Paul write that the Ephesians were we before they came to Christ and where they are now?

“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6)

How valuable are the Ephesians?

“For we are God’s masterpiece.” (Ephesians 2:10)

So the Galatians are seated in heaven with Christ and they are a masterpiece?  Does that sound like royalty?

Ask your children what they think of when they think of royalty?  Palaces, beautiful clothes, diamond crowns, power, beauty, etc.  Now think of how those things are all true of them as a masterpiece of infinite value who sits in the heavenly palace with the King of Kings forever.  It doesn’t get any more royal than that.
