Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – November 30, Colossians 1 “Jesus Created Everything”

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Colossians 1) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: Paul wrote to the church in Colossae to warn them away from following empty rituals instead of following Christ.  He does this by reminding them that Christ is first in everything.

Paul explained that Christ was before all of creation.

Ask the children…

Was Christ before all of creation?

“He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,[.” (Colossians 1:15)

How much of creation did Christ do?

“for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth.” (Colossians 1:16)

Paul knew that Christ had absolutely created everthing.  Nothing could come before Christ or be over Christ.

Ask your children who was alive before creation?  God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  We worship Christ because everything came into being through Him.  Go outside and point out everything you see.  Now thank Christ for making all of this.
