This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Philippians 1) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.
Background: Paul wrote to the church in Philippi to commend them for their faithfulness and to tell them that they gave him great joy.
Paul explained where his confidence came from that they would grow up into all that God wanted them to.
Ask the children…
Who made Paul confident?
” And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work.” (Philippians 1:6)
What was Paul confident about regarding God’s work?
“until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (Philippians 1:6)
Paul knew that once God began a good work in someone, He would complete it. Paul counted on it. Even when things don’t look too promising in the short run, in the long run God’s work will be completed.
Ask your children if they sometimes wonder if they will ever grow up? How do they know that they will? It is God’s design that they grow in stature. It is the same in our spiritual lives. We are designed by God to grow. We need only follow His Spirit daily and we will grow. You can count on it.
