Free 5 minute Kid’s Devotional, One Year Bible Study – October 10, Mark 1, “Authority Over Evil”

Mark

This free one year kid’s devotional study thru the Bible is designed to hit the highlights, provide practical application and requires no preparation. If you have a little more time, I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (Mark 1) while we focus in on just a few verses in 5 minutes.

Background: Mark writes to involve the reader in the intensity of the miraculous life of Christ.  He focuses more on what Jesus does than what He says, especially His service and sacrifice.

Jesus showed his service to mankind and authority over evil by healing and casting out demons.

Ask the children…

What was one way that Jesus served mankind?

“So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases,” (Mark 1:34)

What was another way Jesus served mankind against evil?

“and he (Jesus) cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak.” (Mark 1:34)

Jesus came to set men free from their bondage to evil in the form of sickness and demonic activity.

Have your children read Matthew 10:1 and ask them what Jesus has done with this authority for us today?  How can we serve those God’s puts in our path using this authority?  Hint:  We have the authority to bring God’s power over evil into every situation.
