Free Bible Online With Classic Paintings- Easy Way To Teach Kids Art

Art and The Bible

Just found this wonderful way to read the Bible with your kids that will help them also learn about classic Biblical art. The free Bible resource is called Art and the Bible.

Find the book of the bible you want to read and classical artwork pops up next to text of the passage that it illustrates. If you want more details about the artwork, click on the image. A new screen shares a larger version of the painting and information about the artist and the story of the painting.  On the bottom of the page is a list of related artwork.

This website is wonderful. Not only does it have the full Bible with the artwork in the text but there is also a section that focuses on specific themes that were popular among historic painters. Some of these themes include The Adoration of the Magi, The Fall, The Lamb of God and The Last Supper. If your looking for biographies of these masters there ia a section that gives you that information as well.

Why not check out this free Bible resource called Art in the Bible with your family today. We think it would be a creative way to do a family devotion with your kids. Let us know what you think.
