Just found a great website called Keys for Kids! It offers free daily devotionals for kids. I love the well organized layout. First it starts with a dramatic kid based story. The week of March 9th tells the story of a young girl named Rachel feeling sad that her friend Julie no longer spends much time with her. Julie is busy with her new friends now that she is cheerleading. Rachel’s mom reminds her that we all struggle with this at times and only Jesus will always be with us.
After the story there is a section called “How About You?” for practical application questions. These questions are great for stimulating discussion around the story.
On Keys for Kids, the verses are laid out in an organized way so you can print them ahead of time. They also work ahead of the present date so you could do a month or week at a time.
These devotionals are focused on school aged kids and many of the problems they might encounter. One great feature they have is to offer three different bible translations for the verses, The King James Version, The New King James Version, and the New International Version. They also have a wonderful audio version that follows the calendar. Uncle Charlie the narrator has a warm voice for radio.
Thank you Keys for Kids for this wonderful free resource to help kids with the practical application of God’s Word.
If you like what you read about this Bible teaching, check out the children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website. It is great for parents and kids because it provides the Big Story of God’s miraculous plan in all 66 books of the Bible.
