Fun Way To Tell The Story Of Jonah

Jonah is a wonderful story for kids to hear.  It makes a fun narrative and it also teaches children the importance of being obedient to God, even when we do not feel like it.  Reading this story from the book of Jonah in the Bible or from a children’s Bible can be a great family event.

A fun way of tell this story is to tell it from the perspective of Jonah- from inside the fish.  Here is an idea of how to make a fish!

Jonah and The Whale

Here’s what you need:

  • A large blue sheet/blanket
  • Blue Paper- for fin
  • Gray Paper- for water shooting from the spray hole
  • 1 Styrofoam ball- cut in half
  • Black paper to glue on for eyes

To start with set up a table to cover.  Cover the table with pillows to give it a round affect.  Put blue cloth over it.  Attach eyes, water, and fin with tape.

After you have set it all up, go inside your fish with your kids.  Grab a flashlight so that there is light and read them the story of Jonah and the Whale.  Whoever said reading the Bible is boring, obviously, has not tried this!
