God Loves Your Kids – God Thoughts Towards Them Outnumber The Sands On The Seashore

the psalmist

Every child needs to know that they have a Father in heaven who loves them and that He has countless thoughts towards them.

The Psalmist wrote…

“How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!”
(Psalm 139: 17, 18 )

Imagine going to the beach and beginning to count the individual grains of sand there.  And that is only one beach.  We can’t even begin to imagine how many there are.  Practically speaking that means that God never stops thinking about us.

And all those thoughts that God has are not about condemnation or judgment, but of absolute love and adoration.  God is so thrilled with us that it gives Him great pleasure to think about us.

If you have any sand near you, bring a small jar home or better yet just go out to the beach.  Take a handful of sand and spread it out on some paper and together with your kids begin to separate out and count the number of grains.  It won’t take long for you to agree that this is an impossible task.  Now read this Psalm 19:17, 18 together.  Ask your kids what kind of thoughts they think God is having right now toward them.  A minute later ask them again and so on.  They will get the idea that God is always thinking about them.  If you can remember, do it several times the same day so your kids will be reminded that God is thinking about them throughout the day.
