Every child needs to know that God loves them and that God would even give up His Son because He loves them so much.
The apostle Paul wrote …
“Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” (Romans 8:32)
Ask your kids what there most prized possession is? How would they feel if it was lost or broken or taken away? Who do they love enough that they would they give that possession away for?
God loves each one of us so much that He would even give up His Son for us. Jesus and the Father had always been one since before the beginning of time and never separated. When Jesus came to earth as a man, there was a new separation because Jesus gave up the use of His deity. His communication with the Father changed. He was away from His home in heaven.
Then the ultimate separation took place on the cross when the Father had to turn His back on His Son in order to judge the sin that Jesus carried in His body. The sin of all mankind.
God’s willingness to endure this separation from His beloved Son proves His love for us once and for all.
Thank Jesus that He was willing to leave heaven and His Father for us and take our sins on Himself and take on His Father’s judgement for us. Thank the Father for His willingness to give us His Son because He loves us.
