Halloween Costume: David and Goliath

A really fun costume idea that any kid would like is to dress up as David from the story of David and Goliath.  The best part about it is that possibility of getting to have a slingshot!

Here is what you will need:

A robe

A slingshot

Paper

David Costume

To make the slingshot rocks, take the paper and crumple it up into small balls.  Give these to your child and this is what they can use to pretend to shoot at Goliath.  All your child will need to do is put on the robe and pretend to shoot the slingshot!  Easy and fun!

The best part about being a Biblical character is that when people ask who you are, you have a chance to explain to them a key character in the Bible.  Another really great thing is that when you are getting the costume together you can remind your child of the story. Finally, by pretending to be a character for a night your child can imagine what it would have been like to be David going out to fight a giant with only a slingshot.

If you like what you read, check out our children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website.  It is great for parents and kids because it provides the Big Story of God’s miraculous plan for His children in all 66 books in the Bible including colorful illustrations, rhymes and a surprise on every page.
