He Is Risen- Paper- Mache Easter Eggs

Want to remind your kids that after Jesus died He rose again. That Jesus’s tomb was EMPTY! Check out this fun Easter craft idea on cultivated lives.blogspot.com. The author Heather has outlined with pictures the entire process. She also links you to to the familyfun.go.com site for the detailed instructions.

The basic materials are colored tissue paper, balloons, newspaper, string, white flour and water. The kids blow up the balloons and then tie them to a string which they hang onto something. Next they make the paper-mache paste and using the tissue paper that you cut in squares, you build a crust on your balloon.

The pictures on Cultivated Lives show this craft project being done in a kitchen and the balloons hanging on the counter. After the balloons have dried you can cut out a hole and put an angel on the inside. It looks like she has traced a simple stick figure image onto felt and propped it up inside.

This project would need lots of supervision but it is very doable. I love the results!

Thank you Heather for sharing this idea that reminds families that Jesus is Alive! Why not check out her blog. She has lots of ideas to encourage kids in their walk with God.
