Jesus’ 10 New Testament Principles for Parenting: Principle No. 10 – Parenting Is A Team Sport (Part 1)

Trinity

Jesus parented His children (disciples) as a team with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus prayed to His Father, “My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as you and I are one.”  (John 17:21)

Jesus prayed that His Father would extend the community of the trinity to the human community.  Jesus wanted His human relationships with His children to emulate the intimacy of the 3 in 1.

Jesus provided the human essence of the Father here on earth, the Father had loved and watched over this human community since the beginning of time and the Holy Spirit has come to dwell inside believers to empower and counsel them.

The community of the trinity is at our disposal in the relationship we have with our children.  We do not have to parent on our own but in the community of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
