Jesus’ 10 New Testament Principles for Parenting: Principle No. 4 – Our Children Can Handle What Life Throws At Them (Part 3)

Jesus modeled this 4th parenting principle that ‘that our children can handle what life throws at them’.

Jesus believed that His disciples could handle whatever life threw at them because He knew that they would receive the power of the Holy Spirit after He ascended.

But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about Me everywhere, in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to ends of the earth.”  (Acts 1:8)

Jesus had complete confidence that the combination of what He had already input into the disciples and the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit would be sufficient for the gargantuan task He laid out for them.

Our children will face large tasks in their lives as well.  They will have same power of the Holy Spirit available to them.  Our job is to let our children know how confident we are that they can handle whatever the world throws at them in the power of the Holy Spirit.
