Jesus’ 10 New Testament Principles for Parenting: Principle No. 9 – Transparency Is The Best Policy (Part 4)

Holy Spirit Images

Jesus was transparent about His children’s (disciples) need for the ministry of Holy Spirit in comforting them.

Jesus told His children that it was to their advantage that He go away, because that would bring them the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. Jesus knew that His children were going to need a tremendous amount of comfort in the future. And why not, this world was not their home and anyone who tries to plunder the strong man’s (Satan) house is in for a monumental fight.

When we go to our knees in prayer or just cry out to the Holy Spirit to come alongside us and to ease our pain and provide us the hope to go on, our children are learning one of the most important lessons they can ever learn, the Holy Spirit is constantly available and always able and willing to help them through every difficulty.

Jesus told His disciples “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you”. (John 16:7)
