Jesus Calms The Storm

“A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped… He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’  Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”                 Mark 4:37-39

The story of how Jesus calmed the storm is an amazing miracle to be celebrated by all.  To share such miracles with children from a young age is so important.  It celebrates the wonderful majestic power that Jesus has.

A wonderful craft to exemplify this story is to make a water bottles full of water, this will make it possible to make waves.

Check out this link to find out the details on how to make it:

Once you have made the water bottle then you can shake the bottle to make the waves and then calm it by letting it settle.

This could be a great sunday school craft!  Each child can begin the class by making the water bottles, then as you  read the part about the storm, have them all shake their bottles fiercely.  After you read the part about Jesus calming the storm have all the children stop shaking and watch their bottle waves calm.
