Jesus Heals 10 Lepers – All The Miracles In The Bible For Kids

Jesus Heals 10 Lepers

Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Luke.   Jesus heals 10 lepers (John 17:11-19)

One day as Jesus was walking towards Jerusalem and strange site appeared in the distance.

Ask the children…

What did Jesus see and hear?

“As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, crying out, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’” (Luke 17:12, 13)

Everyone knew that the most pitiful thing you could be was a leper.  You were outcast from your family and friends and just wandered around waiting to die from the dreaded disease.  How did Jesus respond to them lepers?

“He looked at them and said, ‘Go show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.” (Luke 17:14)

Notice that their leprosy was cleansed as they went.  Apparently it wasn’t healed instantly, it took them to take a step of faith as though it were cleansed for it to really happen.

As I have been attending some healing prayer events recently, when people pray for others to be healed, they ask them to do something they couldn’t do before.  It is an act of faith and many times it is in that act that healing comes.

Try it out yourself with those in your family that need healing.  Will it work every time?  No, but who knows, maybe it will work this time?
