Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Luke: Jesus heals a bleeding woman(Luke 8:41-48; Matthew 9:18-21; Mark 5:25-32)
Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Here is a miracle that Jesus performed without even knowing about it. Now that is a double miracle. Ask the children…
What was the problem that needed a miracle from Jesus?
“A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure.” (Luke 8:43)
What was the act of faith that the woman did?
“Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.’” (Luke 8:44)
How did Jesus know that a miracle had just taken place?
“’Who touched me?’ Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, ‘Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.’ But Jesus said, ‘Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.'” (Luke 8:45, 46)
How did the woman answer and testify to the miracle?
“When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed.” (Luke 8:47)
Can you believe it? A woman was healed just by touching Jesus’ cloak and He didn’t even know it. That is the power of faith and the power of Jesus. And it doesn’t matter how long the illness has been going on, it can still be healed.
Ask your children if they know of someone who has been sick for a long time. Stop right now and pray for that person. Better yet, go to them and touch them and pray for their healing. Who knows what Jesus may do because of your faith?
