Jesus Walks On Water

Matthew 14:22-33 tells the story of Jesus walking on water and then Peter walking out to him.  It is such an incredible miraculous story that is great for children to hear.  So why not show kids what that looks like through a little family craft/experiment.

Check out this website for details:

Materials:

-cup

-jello

-toy character

Make the jello in the cup, preferably blue so that it looks like water, and then put the toy on top of the jello.

This craft is not perfect because Jesus did not chance the consistency of water, but it does provide a fun way of making the Bible interactive.  And isn’t that the goal as a parent? To help children understand the Bible and enjoy what they are learning should be top priority.

After making the craft, let your kids act out the story.   Read through the story either in the Bible or in a children’s Bible and then help them to recreate it.  This allows not only for Bible learning but also for some fun parent, child bonding!

If you like what you read, check out our children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website.  It is great for parents and kids because it provides the Big Story of God’s miraculous plan for His children in all 66 books in the Bible including colorful illustrations, rhymes and a surprise on every page.
