Kids Craft: Advent Calendar

A great activity to do with your kids as we approach Christmas day is to do an advent calendar. The Craft Patch has come up with this fun advent calendar!

Advent Calendar

This could make a great craft to make with your kids and then you can allow take turns to check off each day by moving Mary, Joseph, and Jesus closer to the manger scene.  Check out the website below for some quick details on how do make this advent calendar!

Another really fun idea to do while you are counting down the days is to read a small portion of the Christmas story to your kids as you move Mary and Joseph forward each day.  Maybe a verse a day.

The best part about this activity is that centers the Christmas holiday around Jesus’ birth rather than Santa Claus.

  1. You could also do an advent calendar “around your house” by using Grandma’s Advent book that uses the nativity figures to learn about God’s plan in Jesus. It is free to print out at:

Go deeper by using the lessons, “Jesus IS Christmas”, that also use the nativity figures.
    Blessings!
