1 Samuel 3 tells the Bible story of how Samuel was sleeping when suddenly he heard a voice speak to him. He thought it was Eli so he ran to Eli’s room but Eli said he did not call him so Samuel went back to bed. The third time this happened Eli realized it was God trying to speak with Samuel, so he sent Samuel back to bed and told him to speak to God.
