Kids Craft-Thanksgiving Headdress Craft

Native American Headdress

Looking for a fun distracting activity for your kids to do this Thanksgiving? Why not have them make native american headdress place settings to help them understand the history of this holiday.

Start off by telling them the story Thanksgiving. Explain how the pilgrims came to America to gain religious freedom to worship Jesus.  Tell them how when the pilgrims finally arrived they had no food and how the native americans taught them how to get food in this strange new land!

After finishing that, let them each make either a headdress or a pilgrim’s hat to help decorate the table!

About.com has come up with a quick and easy way of making a headdress.  Check out this link!
