Let’s look at another Bible Miracle from the book of Acts. Paul miraculously raised Eutychus from the dead. (Acts 20:7-12)
Paul was about to leave Troas and was teaching believers on the last night in an upper room. About midnight something terrible happened.
Ask the children…
What tragic thing happened while Paul was teaching?
“As Paul spoke on and on, a young man named Eutychus, sitting on the windowsill, became very drowsy. Finally, he fell sound asleep and dropped three stories to his death below.” (Acts 20:9)
What did Paul proclaim by faith and what bible miracle happened?
“Paul went down, bent over him, and took him into his arms. ‘Don’t worry,’ he said, ‘he’s alive!’ 11 … 12 Meanwhile, the young man was taken home unhurt, and everyone was greatly relieved.” (Acts 19:11, 12)
What a tragedy it would have been for this young man to die on Paul’s last night of teaching and encouraging the Troas believers. But instead God used this as an opportunity to do a great miracle of raising Eutychus from the dead.
God is in the habit of taking tragedy and transforming it through His kingdom power into something wondrous.
Ask your children how God made the tragic death of Jesus into something wonderful to bless the whole world? Ask them them if there is some tragedy they know about that you as a family could pray about for God to make it miraculously into a blessing.
