Today let’s focus on teaching kids a Bible miracle from the book of Acts. Paul is bitten by a poisonous snake but was unharmed. (Acts 28:1-6)
Paul was shipwrecked on the island of Malta. He helped gather firewood for the fire because it was cold and rainy. Then a miraculous thing happened.
Ask the children…
What happened to Paul?
“As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand.” (Acts 28:3)
What did the people of the island think about Paul and what would happen to him?
“The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, ‘A murderer no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.’” (Acts 28: 4)
What did miracle did happen to Paul?
“But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.” (Acts 28:5)
God miraculously cured Paul from the poison of the snake bite. Why? As testimony of the power of God to the island dwellers and because God had promised Paul that he would go to Rome.
Our God will always do what He promises even if it takes a miracle.
Read Galatians 5:23, 23 to your children. Ask you children what fruit of the Spirit that they do not currently see in their lives? Ask them what miracle they need to happen in their lives in order for God to fulfill His promises to them about the fruit of the Spirit? Pray with them that God would begin doing a miracle today.
