Matthew 16:5-12 exemplifies perfectly the patient character of God through how Jesus treats His disciples. Jesus makes an analogy about the Pharisees by comparing their teachings to be like yeast in bread. When the disciples misinterpret this, instead of giving up on them, He laughs at their confusion and explains the point.
This passage clearly shows that Jesus does not give up on His people even when they continue to misunderstand and doubt Him time and time again. What a comfort! Maybe this week your kids have been beating themselves up about how they are failing in one area of life. Maybe they cannot seem to get their memory verse right for church to win that special candy. Or maybe they are making the same mistake over and over again. This is a great passage to share with them to remind them that God still loves them and is patiently teaching us about his truths.
