“That evening quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. 14 When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor. 15 When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, ;’What is it?’ For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, ‘It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat.’ ” Exodus 16:13-15
A great activity to teach for a sunday school service is before the sunday school class set out little pieces of bread or saltine crackers all around the room. Then once all the children have arrived have them sit down around the crackers. Read through Exodus 16. Then tell the children that just like God had the people pick up the manna so shall the children pick up the crackers.
Another way to do this activity at home is to read Exodus 16 at night time right before bed. The next morning before your child wakes up place the crackers or bread all around their room. When your child wakes up they will feel just like the Israelites felt when they first discovered the manna!
