Mister Rogers A Man Of Faith

Remember the show Mister Roger’s Neighborhood? Did  you know that Fred Rogers the creator of the show was an ordained Presbyterian minister and he decided to work in television because he hated what he saw on it. He realized that he could use this instrument for God’s good and not for evil.  We all can be thankful for his vision and for his continued steadfast commitment to the show from 1968-2001.

My hats go off to this man who helped kids come to grips with their worlds. With his calm voice and his consistent show, he was a routine that a generation of kids grew up on.

We have the privilege of talking to our kids about shows on T.V and show them the story behind those shows were we know that there is a Christian message being subtly proclaimed. It also might be fun to read the book The Simple Faith of Mr. Rogers: Spiritual Insights form the World’s Most Beloved Neighbor.

It is great for kids to see how we can impact the world for God in subtle ways.

If you like what you read, check out our children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website.  It is great for parents because it provides the Big Story of God’s wonderful plan for His children in all 66 books in the Bible including colorful illustrations, rhymes and a surprise on every page.
