Modeling For Girls The Biblical View Of Modesty

Modesty is a lost value even in the church. Just check out the You Tube comments on the site of the women’s video above. Many people are upset by her stand that calls women to take a view different than the world.

Ok, let’s look at her intent. I believe as mother of a son and two daughters, we set the standard. We are to teach our kids that modesty isn’t about being more loved or less loved by God, but a wisdom issue.

It takes much more creativity to be classy and modest in an outfit. Why not choose the modest route and enjoy the freedom that brings. True freedom comes when we follow God’s desires for our lives.

We found a site that has modest swimsuits called Diviine ModesTee.   I’m sure there are a number of sites out there that encourage modest dressing.

There is no doubt that modesty for both men and women is equally important and it is also true that God gives us free choice. Hopefully we don’t let our free choice detract from the glory of His kingdom.

It is God’s goal to redeem the hearts of people. How sad it would be if our clothing brings a stumbling block for connecting with someone’s heart.  Our encouragement is to proceed with lots of grace and prayer on the modesty issue.  God’s concern is always our heart  and living in relationship with Him.

If you like what you read, check out our children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website.  It is great for parents because it provides the Big Story of God’s miraculous plan for His children in all 66 books in the Bible including colorful illustrations, rhymes and a surprise on every page.
