One Year Study Thru The Bible For Children – April 30, 2 Chronicles 36, Changing King’s Hearts

Bible

This one year study thru the Bible for kids is designed to hit the highlights and provide practical application. I encourage you to read the whole section of scripture (2 Chronicles 36) while we focus in on just a few verses.

Background: The second book of Chronicles was written to encourage God’s people who had been exiled to Babylon and were wondering if God was still for them. In the last chapter of 2 Chronicles the author writes about how the God directed the Babylonian King’s heart and brought and end to their slavery .

Ask the children…

What as God fulfilling?

““ In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia,[i] the Lord fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah.” (2 Chronicles 36:22)

What specifically did God cause King Cyrus to do?

“He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom: 23 “This is what King Cyrus of Persia says: “The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. He has appointed me to build him a Temple at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Any of you who are the Lord’s people may go there for this task. And may the Lord your God be with you!” (2 Chronicles 38:22, 23)

Ask your children if there is anything too great for God to do?  What is the most difficult thing in their life to trust God for?  Remind them that God can even turn the hearts of geat kings.  Pray with them and entrust this issue to God.
