Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of 2 Kings: A barren woman becomes pregnant (2 Kings 4:8-17)
Elisha and his servant traveled to Shunem. A wealthy woman there invited Elisha and Gehazi to stay with her whenever they passed through. She even built a room for them. One day, Elisha asked her if there was anything that he could do for her. She said not, but Gehazi pointed out that she didn’t have a son and her husband was an old man.
Ask the children…
What did Elisha tell the woman would happen and how did she respond?
“’Next year at this time you will be holding a son in your arms!’ ‘No, my lord!’ she cried. ‘O man of God, don’t deceive me and get my hopes up like that.’” (2 Kings 4:16)
“But sure enough, the woman soon became pregnant. And at that time the following year she had a son, just as Elisha had said.” (2 Kings 4:17)
The word of the Lord never returns void. God always does what He promises.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
