Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of 2 Kings: Elisha’s bones revive a man from the dead. (2 Kings 13:14-21)
Elisha the prophet became old and died and was buried. After this the Israelites were fighting against Moabite raiders. One day the Israelites were burying one of their dead and something miraculous happened.
Ask the children…
What caused the Israelites to throw the dead man into Elisha’s tomb rather than burying it?
“Once when some Israelites were burying a man, they spied a band of these raiders. So they hastily threw the corpse into the tomb of Elisha and fled.” (2 Kings 13:21)
What happened to the dead man?
“But as soon as the body touched Elisha’s bones, the dead man revived and jumped to his feet!” (2 Kings 13:21)
God showed His miraculous power through Elisha’s dead bones. The bones healed this dead man and brought him back to life. And we still tell this story today to give us hope that even death is not the end of a believer in Christ.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
