Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus: Aaron’s Staff Becomes A Serpent. (Exodus 7:8-13)
Remind your children that God’s children (The Jews) were now slaves in Egypt. Moses and his brother Aaron have been called by God to tell Pharaoh (Egypt’s king) that He must let the Jews go. Pharaoh had told them NO!
Ask the children…
Who told Moses and Aaron to do this miracle? What was the miracle?
“Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, ‘Pharaoh will demand, ‘Show me a miracle.’ When he does this, say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down in front of Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent’’.” (Exodus 7:8, 9)
What did Pharaoh do in response to the miracle?
“Then Pharaoh called in his own wise men and sorcerers, and these Egyptian magicians did the same thing with their magic. They threw down their staffs, which also became serpents! But then Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.” (Exodus 7:11, 12)
Did Pharaoh let God’s people go as a result of the miracle?
“Pharaoh’s heart, however, remained hard. He still refused to listen, just as the LORD had predicted.” (Exodus 7:13)
Just because God does a miracle does not mean everything gets fixed right away. In this case, God continued to harden Pharaoh’s heart so He could do bigger and bigger miracles later.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
